ISLAND HOPPING IN EL NIDO, PHILIPPINES
Into mind-blowing natural beauty? Excellent! Island Hopping will be right up your ally.
The thing is, the tours that are offered (Tours A, B, C and D) are a little oversubscribed. Everyone organises a tour in El Nido. Literally everyone. In fact we challenge you to find a shop / restaurant / hotel that doesn't organise an island hopping tour. In our experience every tour offered is within the A, B, C and D cookie cutter. On the face of it, they’re the fucking dream. I mean, four different island hopping routes to explore that offer bbq’d lunches on deserted islands before you’re taken back to the mainland. Sounds like heaven. Until you realise that about 30 packed boats depart at the same time every morning going to the same locations at the same time. Errr, delete that castaway vision…
UNLESS… you find our lovely friends at Island Lyfe Ink that is.
Yes, it’s a tattoo studio.
No, this tour has nothing to do with tattoos. Unless you want a tattoo, that is… in which case, we recommend these guys thoroughly.
Side note: You’ll be shocked to know that this is not a sponsored post with the amount of gushing we’re about to do.
Jeremy and Fhebie, the wonderful couple who own Island Lyfe Ink, are responsible for the joy that is TOUR E. Not only does TOUR E leave El Nido town later then the masses to ensure you are guaranteed one-on-one time with the beautiful-ness but they also don't really have a time limit for the tour. Whereas the “normal” tours last about 4 hours, Tour E basically goes on until you’re ready to go home. We landed up on a small island counting shooting stars, playing with bioluminescent plankton, eating dinner and drinking rum till about 11pm. Can you even? We couldn’t…
Go and find Island Lyfe Ink by walking around the back of the Art Cafe and follow them on Facebook of course: facebook.com/islandlyfeink
