BRUNCH IN UBUD, BALI
Slowly picking your way through the maze of gorgeousness that is Ubud is a wondrous, if not slightly sweaty, activity. Thing is, sometimes a girl just needs brunch like NOW.
If you’re one of those, this is where you should be going:
- Watercress: The brunch menu is a thing of beauty. No wait, the whole menu is a thing of beauty. The torture of trying to commit to just one thing is a fucking drama, let me tell you. Smashed Chats and Goats Cheese or Corn Fritters or The Mexican Baked Beans and Eggs? The struggle is real. At least they have Revolver coffee to keep you alive while you battle through. Oh and if you love people watching as much as we do, grab a seat upstairs overlooking the street. watercressbali.com
- Locavore to go: The little sister to lauded Locavore just up the street. You can just pop into this one. No reservations needed! Woohoo! Open for brunches and lunches, Locavore-to-go might be one of our favourite places. Like. Ever. Seasonal, locally sourced food, a constantly changing menu made by people who give all of the fucks. They had us at hello. We ate and drank everything. The interior is cool as fuck. Not sure what else to say about this one. Unmissable. facebook.com/LocavoreToGo
- Kafe: Around the corner from the Yoga Barn this is post-yoga brunch / coffee / juice with a hefty side of chill. This is exactly what we pictured when we thought “cafe in Ubud”. A nice mixture of locals and tourists to keep the people watching eventful. Healthy, yummy food with a mean coffee and did we mention the people watching? facebook.com/Kafe-Ubud
- Seniman: Although the brunch is a bit meh, the coffee kept us coming back over and over again. The baristas know their shit. The cold brewed coffee is heavenly. Oh fuck it, all the coffee is wonderful. In fact, have the coffee tasting menu where the baristas ply you with all sorts of caffeinated goodness but be sure to have a friend ready to peel you off the ceiling at 2am when you’re begging for the come-down to hit. Worth every sweaty shiver. senimancoffee.com
